Twins Use Long Ball to Beat Chicago

The Minnesota Twins hit a pair of clutch home runs during a 6-3 win over the Chicago White Sox in Minneapolis last night. The game was tied 3-3 in the sixth inning when Trevor Larnach launched a go-ahead solo shot. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli says it is nice seeing Trevor Larnach being productive at the plate.

Byron Buxton followed up with a two-run bomb in the next frame to add some cushion. Twins reliever Justin Topa earned the win in relief as the Twins won their second game in a row to improve to 9-15 on the season. Jordan Leasure was charged with his first loss out of the bullpen for the 5-19 Southsiders, who have dropped nine of ten. Minnesota goes for the three-game sweep with a matinee game today at Target Field at 12:10 P-M. Coverage begins at 11:30am on SAM 107.3 and at 12:30pm on KNUJ.
