Twins win 9th straight

(Chicago, IL) — The Minnesota Twins are on a nine-game winning streak after taking down the White Sox 6-5 in Chicago last night. For the second straight night, Max Kepler drove home Byron Buxton in the ninth inning with the go-ahead run. This time is was thanks to a sacrifice fly. The Twins trailed by a run in the eighth before Carlos Correa and Trevor Larnach both ripped R-B-I singles to put Minnesota on top. Andrew Benintendi tied the game with a homer in the bottom of the frame, setting up Kepler’s heroics. Caleb Thielbar earned his first win of the season in relief, while Jhoan Duran picked up his first save. Minnesota is in fourth place in the A-L Central at 16-13. Chicago’s Danny Mendick went deep in the losing effort, while Michael Kopech was charged with the loss out of the pen. The 6-24 White Sox have dropped their last two games. The Twins go for the three-game sweep with a game today at 1:10 P-M.
