Twins Win Again

(Minnesota News Network- Sacramento, CA) — The Minnesota Twins clinched a series victory over the Athletics with a 6-1 win in Sacramento last night. Ryan Jeffers got the scoring started with a solo home run in the top of the first, while Harrison Bader added a two-run shot in the fifth. Zebby Matthews earned his first win after holding the Athletics to one run on four hits in five innings. The Twins are in second place in the American League Central Division at 34-27. Justin Sterner was charged with the loss after surrendering one run on one hit in one inning of work. The 23-40 A’s have dropped nine straight games and 20 of their past 21 games. The four-game series wraps up today with a matinee scheduled for 2:35 P-M on Bigfoot 105.5.
