Twins Win, head to New York
The Minnesota Twins came through in the clutch during a 5-3, 11-inning win over the Kansas City Royals at Target Field yesterday. Luke Keaschall hit a walk-off, two-out, two-run home run to give Minnesota the win in the bottom of the 11th. Danny Gladden on Twins Radio.
Ryan Fitzgerald also went deep in the victory, while Michael Tonkin earned his first win of the season in relief. The Twins took two of three in the series are in fourth place in the A-L Central at 56-61. Minnesota has won four of its past five games and five of seven. Vinnie Pasquantino homered in the losing effort, and Carlos Estevez was charged with his fourth loss out of the bullpen. The Royals are in third place in the A-L Central at 58-60. The Twins head to the Big Apple to start a three-game series against the Yankees tonight. Coverage begins at 5:30pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
