Twins win streak snapped at 12

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Boston Red Sox held the Minnesota Twins down for the first time in two weeks with a 9-2 win at Target Field yesterday. The game was tied at one entering the fifth when Ceddanne Rafaela hit a two-run home run to put the Sox up for good. Boston added four runs in the eighth and two runs in the ninth for good measure. Rafael Devers went deep in the victory, and Brennan Bernardino earned the win in relief. The Red Sox avoided being swept with the win. Ryan Jeffers homered for Minnesota, and Joe Ryan was charged with the loss after surrendering three runs on four hits in six innings. The Twins had their 12-game winning streak snapped with the loss. Minnesota is 19-14 on the season and in second-place in the A-L Central, trailing first-place Cleveland by two-and-a-half-games. The Twins open a four-game home series against Seattle tonight at 6:40 P-M.
