Two Minnesota teams get wins in Womens Hockey

(Syracuse, NY/Minnesota News Network ) — The number-six Minnesota-Duluth women’s hockey team skated past Syracuse 4-0 in last night’s game in New York state. Four different players scored the U-M-D goals and netminder Ève Gascon made 33 saves in the shutout. The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 on the season with the win and will play the Orange again tonight at 5 P-M.

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The third-rated Golden Gopher women’s hockey team raced to a 5-0 lead after one period and never looked back in a season-opening home win over Boston College last night 7-1. Gopher freshman forward Bella Fanale of Webster, New York scored two goals in her Minnesota debut. Star player Abbey Murphy registered a four-point game. The same two teams play game two of the series tonight, starting at 6 P-M at Ridder Arena.
