U of M Officials Remind Minnesotans to Look Out for Ticks

(Minneapolis, MN) – Minnesotans need to be on the lookout for ticks as spring weather means they’re out in full force. U of M Public Health Professor Jon Oliver says you should be doing daily tick checks on your kids and pets. He says to avoid ticks, wearing pants and tucking them into your socks can help, as will insect repellent. Oliver says if you’ve been bit, use tweezers to grab the tick by its mouthparts and pull it off. If you develop a rash or flu, visit a doctor.
