UConn National Women’s Champion

The U-Conn women are back on top of the college basketball world. The Huskies blew out South Carolina 82-59 in the N-C-A-A Women’s Basketball National Championship in Tampa yesterday. Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd scored 24 points as U-Conn claimed its record 12th title in school history. Hopkins native Paige Bueckers  scored 17 points.  Buecker admits winning the title means the hard work was worth it.

Albertville native Tessa Johnson netted 10 points for the Gamecocks, who failed to repeat after winning last year’s championship.
