UFC/CRC APPROVE MERGER

The boards of directors of United Farmers coop in Winthrop and Central Region Coop Sleepy Eye have announced their members have approved the merger of the two companies.  The cooperatives entered a merger study in early February to identify benefits of a merger.  The vote was submitted to membership March 14 and tallied at a special meeting Friday.  Fafinski, Mark and Johnson law firm certified the members of CRC and UFC and approved the merger by a supermajority of votes cast.  Mitch Altermatt will step down May 2 as  CEO of UFC to become the CEO position at Crystal Valley Cooperative.  The newly merged cooperative will begin operations September 1.
