Update on Meeker County Attempted Abduction

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office is reporting they’ve received surveillance footage of a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle used in the attempted abduction on April 3, 2024.

A 13-year-old child told sheriff’s deputies that a man in a red Ford pickup tried to abduct them on April 3rd in the Stella Lake area of Ellsworth Township.

Video surveillance shows a red pickup westbound on County Road 33 during that time frame.

There is also video surveillance of what appears to be the same truck driving slowly and repeatedly through 217th Avenue off of County Road 33 the night before the attempted abduction.

Detectives believe this is a late-model Ford F-150 pickup truck.
