UPSIDE DOWN CHRISTMAS TREE COMING TO HERMANN MONUMENT IN NEW ULM
The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that a 40-foot upside-down Christmas Tree will be installed near the Hermann Monument. The display is rooted in German tradition that dates back centuries and symbolizes faith and the Holy Trinity and serves to honor New Ulm’s German Heritage. President and CEO of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce Sarah Warmka says the tree will be cut down Tuesday (this) morning and installed later in the day. The tree will be officially lit Wednesday. The tree will remain on display through the holidays and will come down shortly after Christmas. This project is made possible with the help of many community members and organizations including Jim Schwartz, who donated the tree, Schaefer Crane Service, Kraus Tree Service, New Ulm Public Utilities and many others who volunteered their time and expertise.
