VEHICLE TRAFFIC RESTRICTED ON LAKE HANSKA

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report Wednesday evening  around 10:30 pm of a UTV/side-by-side with a driver and passenger that went through the ice on Lake Hanska.  Authorities say both individuals were able to get out of the water.  While heading off the lake on foot, they broke through the ice again and again but were able to eventually get off the lake safely.  The sheriff’s office is restricting ALL vehicle traffic on Lake Hanska at the south main landing due to open water and unsafe ice conditions.  This includes all vehicles – trucks, cars, ATVs and snowmobiles.
