Vikes 9 Game Win Streak Snapped
The Minnesota Vikings struggled in the red zone and mustered only three field goals in last night’s 31-9 loss at Detroit. The 15-2 Lions scored the final 21 points of the night to win the game and the N-F-C North Division championship. Minnesota dipped to 14-3 and received the five-seed in the postseason and will face the Rams in Los Angeles a week from tonight in the Wild Card round. Vikes quarterback Sam Darnold struggled with his passing, going 18-for-41 for 166 yards and no touchdowns on a night in which Minnesota produced only 262 yards of total offense. Star receiver Justin Jefferson was limited to three catches for 54 yards. Meanwhile, Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs scored all four touchdowns in the game, rushing for 139 yards. He rushed for three scores and caught a T-D pass from Detroit Q-B Jared Goff, who threw for 231 yards. Detroit earned the top overall seed in the N-F-C and a first round bye. Minnesota’s game at Los Angeles on Monday will kick off at 7 P-M.
