Vikings hammer Bengals, other NFL news

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — Isaiah Rodgers scored a pair of defensive touchdowns to help quarterback Carson Wentz debut a success as the Vikings slammed the Bengals 48-10. Rodgers forced three of the Bengals five turnovers in the win. It was the most lopsided victory since 1998 and 48 points was the most scored since 2015. Wentz, who got his first Vikings start with the injury to J.J. McCarthy, threw for 173 yards and hit both Josh Oliver and T.J. Hockenson for touchdowns. In injury news, left tackle Christian Darrisaw and safety Harrison Smith both made their season debuts. Minnesota is overseas for the next two weeks as they face the Steelers in Dublin, Ireland next Sunday morning followed by a game against the Browns in two weeks from London.

The Browns upset the Packers with a last-second field goal from Cleveland. Andre Szmyt nailed a 55-yard kick to give his side a 13-10 victory. Quinshon Judkins had nearly 100 rushing yards to go with a score as Cleveland improved to 1-and-2. Jordan Love threw for more than 180 yards along with a touchdown and a pick for Green Bay, which fell to 2-and-1.

The Bears bashed the Cowboys 31-14 from Chicago to earn their first win of the regular season. Caleb Williams threw for almost 300 yards to go with four passing touchdowns. Luther Burden had more than 100 receiving yards along with a score as Chicago improved to 1-and-2. Dak Prescott tossed a T-D and a pair of picks for Dallas, which shares the same record.
