Vikings trade away Blackmon

(Eagan, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Vikings are moving on from a once-promising cornerback. The team traded Mekhi Blackmon to the Indianapolis Colts yesterday. The Purple received a 2026 sixth-round pick to complete the deal. Blackmon missed all of the 2024 season with a torn A-C-L. The third-year defender had one interception and 41 tackles in 15 career games with Minnesota. He was originally a third round pick for the Vikes in 2023. In other roster news, the team waived punter Oscar Chapman and offensive lineman Leroy Watson IV. The Vikings will open the regular season on Monday, September 8th at Chicago.
