Vikings trim roster to 53 players, Ham placed on IR
(Eagan, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Vikings made a flurry of moves to get their roster down to 53 players yesterday. The team placed veteran fullback C-J Ham and edge rusher Tyler Batty on injured reserve yesterday. The Purple also cut 19 players, including edge rusher Gabriel Murphy, defensive lineman Taki Taimani, and wide receiver Lucky Jackson. The Vikings can start placing players on their practice squad today. The regular season opens for the Vikes on Monday, September 8th at Chicago.
