Vikings Upset Lions In Detroit

(Minnesota News Network- Detroit, MI) — Vikings quarterback J-J McCarthy had a strong performance in his return from injury as Minnesota upset the Detroit Lions 27-24 at Ford Field yesterday. The Vikings quarterback threw for touchdowns on Minnesota’s first two drives of the game, and he added a rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Minnesota iced the game when McCarthy threw a perfect back-shoulder pass to Jalen Nailor for a first down late in the fourth quarter. Vikes linebacker Blake Cashman of Eden Prairie had 14 tackles and a forced fumble. The Vikings improved to 4-4, but still sit in fourth-place in the N-F-C North. Lions Q-B Jared Goff threw for 284 yards and a couple of touchdowns. Sam LaPorta and Amon-Ra St. Brown each recorded 97 receiving yards for the Lions, who dropped to 5-3.
