Viola Inez Bauman
Viola Bauman, age 97 of Morris, Minnesota, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at her home in Morris surrounded by her family.
Visitation for Viola Bauman will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
Funeral services for Viola Bauman will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN, with Reverend Chris Richards officiating.
Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris, MN.
Viola Inez Sprouls, daughter of Alvia and Inga (Veile) Sprouls, was born January 1, 1928, in Darnen Township in Stevens County, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended country school and Morris High School, graduating in 1945. On June 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to John Bauman at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. The couple lived on a farm, one mile west on highway 28 in Darnen Township, where they raised their twin daughters, June and Janet and farmed.
Viola was a member of Federated Church in Morris. She enjoyed sewing, gardening her flowers and growing her vegetables into a bountiful crop to for canning, making pickles and jellies. Viola also raised chickens. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters: June (Francis) Straight of Morris, MN, and Janet (Darrell) Sauter of Ocoee, Florida; three grandchildren: John (Jodi) Straight of Morris, MN, Kathy (Charles) Schulz of Coon Rapids, MN, and Kimberly Jackson of Ocoee, FL; seven great-grandchildren: Justin and Johnny Straight of Morris, MN, Samantha and Parker Schultz of Coon Rapids, MN, Christian and Brianna Bracy and Olivia Jackson of Ocoee, FL; two sisters: Beverly Henrichs of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Carol (Jerry) McRoberts of Rice Lake, WI; one brother: Marvin (Sharon) Sprouls of Alexandria, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son: Jerry; brother: Leo; and sisters: Arlene Jacobson and Shirley Sprouls.
Arrangements are with Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
