Waconia Football team named finalist for National Award

The Waconia High School Football team has been named a finalist for a National Award. The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame announced 63 state winners for the NFF National High School Academic Excellence Awards. The initiative honors the top academic football teams and is designed to inspire and foster a culture of academic excellence in high school football teams throughout the nation. 5 other Minnesota Football teams were named as winners as well including Parkers Prairie, Randolph, Concordia Academy, St Anhony Village, Wayzata, and Stephen Argyle. The 63 teams will now vie as finalists for the NFF Hatchell Cup, recognizing the top individual high school football team in the nation for excellence in the classroom, on the field and in the community.
