Waiting period is over for Tommies

(St. Paul, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The St. Thomas Tommies are officially a full-fledged N-C-A-A Division I institution with the ability to take part in national championship tournaments after completing a four-year transition period. St. Thomas transitioned into D-I competition in 2021, but due to N-C-A-A rules were not eligible to take part in N-C-A-A championship events until 2025. The N-C-A-A officially ended the waiting period yesterday. That makes the Tommies ready for tourney play when the school year begins this fall. This also completes the process that makes the Tommies the first-ever team to move straight from Division III to Division I.
