Walter “Wally” Paul Koepp
Walter “Wally” Paul Koepp, age 90, of Belle Plaine passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in Belle Plaine. A funeral service for Wally will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine with Rev. Sherri Otto officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine from 4-7 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.
Interment with military honors will be in Oakwood Cemetery following the service. Wally was born on August 30, 1934, to Walter H. and Helen (Hoernemann) Koepp in Hancock Township, Carver County. Wally was baptized on October 7, 1934, and confirmed in the Evangelical Church on Palm Sunday, March 21,1948, by Paster P.J. Haupt. Growing up, he attended Country School. Wally enlisted in the Army. Once he was discharged from the Army, he returned home and farmed until his retirement. On November 20, 1960, Wally married Irene Redmann at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Together, they raised a family of 6 children.
Wally is survived by wife Irene Koepp of Belle Plaine; children Richard Koepp of Belle Plaine, Albert Koepp of Belle Plaine, Dorothy Koepp of Belle Plaine, Charles Koepp of Belle Plaine, and Ervin Koepp special friend Jane Thompson of Nicolet; and brother Henry “Hank” (Pat) Koepp.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son Louis Koepp; brother, Robert (Doris) Koepp; and sisters Marjorie (Reuben) Tesch and Irene (William) Plonski.
