Warrant Issued for Wright County Mother After Kids Eat ‘Magic Mushroom’ Chocolate at School
(KSTP/Wright County, MN) A warrant has been issued for a woman’s arrest in Wright County after it was discovered that her child had taken a “magic mushroom” chocolate bar to school, ate some of it, and shared it with a classmate.
KSTP reports 39-year-old Cassie Rae Tauriainen has a warrant out for her arrest on multiple felony charges, stemming from an incident on Sept. 10.
Charging documents state police were called after an incident at Cokato Elementary School, where a 6-year-old girl and another young child were showing signs of overdosing. Both children were taken to the hospital for treatment.
It was later discovered that the 6-year-old daughter had brought the chocolate bar from home, which contained 6 grams of mushrooms. Investigators believe she ate it while at school and gave some of the chocolate to the other child.
When police searched her apartment, investigators discovered multiple items of drug paraphernalia and items that tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Tauriainen is wanted on felony charges of child endangerment, storing meth paraphernalia in the presence of a child, and fifth-degree drug possession.
