Week 2 of the Minnesota Fair Begins

(Minnesota News Network- Falcon Heights, MN) — Week two of the Minnesota State Fair begins today (Mon) in Falcon Heights. Just under 199 thousand people came to the Great Minnesota Get-Together on Saturday. The Sunday attendance figures will be released this afternoon. Cooler temps are expected again today with a high in upper 60s or low 70s. This is Senior Day and at gate admission for fairgoers ages 65 and better is 15 dollars. The Happy Together Tour featuring the Turtles is tonight’s Grandstand concert. Los Lobos is playing the free State Fair Bandshell stage. >

Today is Minnesota State Patrol Day at the State Fair. Fairgoers will have the opportunity to meet troopers, see demonstrations, explore vehicles and learn more about careers in public safety. The K-9 unit, Honor Guard and Special Response Team will also be there. This year’s event will honor the 25th anniversary of Trooper Ted Foss’s line-of-duty death. Visitors can sign a special version of a highway sign in his honor.
