Weekend College Hockey Results
(undated) — The 4th ranked Gopher men’s hockey team swept a pair of games from 6th ranked Michigan this weekend and both came in the form of shutouts. Friday it was a 6-0 final as Nathan Airey got his first collegiate shutout with 32 saves. Saturday, it was Liam Souliere’s turn to blank the Wolverines and he did it by stopping all 22 shots he faced. The Gophers are now 15-2-1 on the season and a perfect 8-0 in the Big Ten. They also upped their record on home ice to 7-0-1. The Gophers are home again this weekend for a pair against Michigan Staet starting at 7:30 P-M on Friday night. Elsewhere this weekend, in the N-C-H-C, St. Cloud State earned a split with Omaha while the Bulldogs dropped a pair in Tempe to Arizona State. In the C-C-H-A, Bemidji State split a pair of games with Lake Superior State. St. Thomas also split with Michigan Tech. Minnesota Staet took a pair from Bowling Green while Augustana beat Alaska Fairbanks on Friday but fell on Saturday in the rematch. In the W-C-H-A, Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State skated to a 1-1 tie on Friday night while the Bulldogs got a 3-1 win on Saturday. Minnesota State gave up a pair to Wisconsin this weekend in Mankato. And the Gophers took both games this weekend at St. Thomas including a 6-2 win on Saturday.
