WESTBROOK MAN SERIOUSLY HURT IN GARAGE EXPLOSION AND FIRE

The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a garage fire Monday, January 5 that seriously injured a man.  Authorities say 58-year-old Frank Wood of Westbrook was taken to the Minneapolis burn center after the explosion and fire while he was working in his garage.  Wood was able to call 911 saying he was burned and his garage was on fire.  A cause is still under investigation.  Several agencies responded including the Westbrook, Dovray and Storden fire departments, Westbrook ambulance, the state patrol, the state Fire Marshal’s Office and the U.S Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
