White Sox Rally Again to Sweep Twins, Win Fifth Straight
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Kyle Teel launched a game-tying three-run homer, Colson Montgomery added a home run and three RBIs, and the surging Chicago White Sox rallied past the Minnesota Twins 11–8 on Thursday night to complete a four-game sweep.
Chase Meidroth led the offensive charge with four hits, as the White Sox overcame a three-run deficit for the second straight night — notching their season-best fifth consecutive victory.
Teel and Edgar Quero each collected three hits, helping Chicago improve to 5–62 when trailing after six innings and earn their 23rd comeback win of the season.
Rookie Wikelman González (1–0) earned his first career win, striking out two and allowing no hits in 1⅓ innings of relief. Fraser Ellard opened the game for Chicago, striking out two over 1⅓ innings and giving up two hits.
Minnesota’s Luke Keaschall matched Meidroth’s effort with four hits and two runs scored. Mickey Gasper drove in three, while Matt Wallner and Kody Clemens each homered for the Twins, who have dropped seven of their last 10 games.
Twins reliever Travis Adams (1–3) gave up four runs on three hits in a rough seventh inning. That frame was highlighted by Teel’s 413-foot blast to right field off a misplaced cutter, tying the game at 7. Moments later, Andrew Benintendi delivered a go-ahead sacrifice fly to score Lenyn Sosa.
Despite trailing in every game of the series, Chicago pulled off the improbable sweep at Target Field — showcasing grit and late-game resilience throughout the week.
