Wild extend win streak to six with 5-2 win over Bluejackets
Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy each recorded a goal and two assists as the Minnesota Wild extended their winning streak to six games with a 5–2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night.
Joel Eriksson Ek added a goal and an assist, while Ryan Hartman and Vladimir Tarasenko also found the net for Minnesota. Yakov Trenin chipped in with two assists, and goaltender Jesper Wallstedt turned aside 27 shots.
Zach Werenski scored both goals for Columbus, and Jet Greaves made 23 saves. The Blue Jackets have now dropped six of their last seven games.
Minnesota’s defense continued its strong play during the streak, allowing just nine total goals and no more than two in any game, including one shutout.
Eriksson Ek broke a 2–2 tie with 8:10 remaining, poking in a rebound after Greaves stopped his initial shot from the left side. Kaprizov sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 1:52 for his 22nd of the season, and Boldy followed with another empty-netter 38 seconds later.
