Wild Lose In OT
Brett Howden scored 4:05 into overtime to lift the Golden Knights to a 3-2 O-T win on Tuesday night in Game 5. Ryan Hartman looked to put Minnesota on top with :75 seconds left on the clock but after reviewing the play, Gustav Nyquist was offsides and the goal was reversed. Ryan Hartman isn’t casting blame on Gustav Nyquist.
Vegas gets back to back wins to put the Wild on the brink of elimination. Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy each scored for Minnesota – each potting their fifth of the postseason. Filip Gustavsson got the start and made 23 saves through two periods. Marc Andre Fleury entered the game in relief to start the third period when Gustavsson left with illness. Fleury suffers the loss on six saves but officially becomes the only goaltender in N-H-L history to appear in 18 playoffs seasons. Game 6 is Thursday night in St. Paul with a 6:30 puck drop from Xcel Energy Center.
