Wild Make Two Trades
(Minnesota News Network- St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild are making some moves ahead of the 2025 N-H-L Draft. The Wild traded center Freddy Gaudreau to the Seattle Kraken in exchange for a fourth-round pick. Minnesota also sent forward Brendan Gaunce to Columbus and received minor league forward Cameron Butler. In other team news, the Wild don’t have a first round pick in the N-H-L Draft tonight. Barrin a trade, the team will make its first selection at pick 52 tomorrow. >>
N-H-L Draft Begins Tonight (Undated) — The 2025 N-H-L Draft will begin tonight. It is the first decentralized draft in league history. The New York Islanders have the number one pick after entering the lottery with just a three-and-a-half percent chance of doing so. This is New York’s first time with the top pick since drafting John Tavares in 2009. Canadian defenseman Matthew Schaefer is expected to be taken at number one. The San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks, Utah Mammoth and Nashville Predators round out the top five selections. Rounds two through seven will take place on Saturday.
