Wild snap losing streak

(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota newcomer Vinny Hinostroza scored in his Wild debut as his new team beat the Hurricanes 2-1 last night in St. Paul. Hinostroza, claimed off waivers from Nashville on Wednesday, scored the eventual winner when he got the puck past Canes goaltender Freddy Andersen in a goal mouth scramble. It’s his first goal of the season and it gave the Wild a 2-0 lead early in the third. It proved to be big one as Sebastian Aho scored late in regulation but Filip Gustavsson shut the door from there and Minnesota was able to hold on for the win. Gustavsson made 38 saves for the win as the Wild stopped a four game losing streak at Xcel Energy Center. Yakov Trenin scored the other goal in the game. The Wild host the Islanders at 7 P-M tomorrow night and then are off for two weeks for the Four Nations Face Off next week in Boston and Montreal.
