Wild Star Leads U-S Past Sweden In Olympics

(Milan/Minnesota News Network) — Minnesota Wild star Quinn Hughes came through in the clutch during Team U-S-A’s 2-1 overtime win against Sweden in the Winter Olympics. Hughes scored the game-winning goal in overtime. Wild forward Matt Boldy assisted on the walk-off score. Wild players Hughes, Boldy, and Brock Faber take on Slovakia in the semifinals tomorrow in Italy. Former Golden Gopher star defenseman Jackson LaCombe of Eden Prairie, Tampa Bay’s Jake Guentzel of Woodbury, Colorado Avalanche forward Brock Nelson of Warroad, and Dallas goaltender Jake Oettinger of Lakeville are also taking part for the U-S.
