Wild take down Avalanche

(Denver, CO/Minnesota News Network) — Minnesota forward Matt Boldy put up four points for the second game in a row as the Wild returned from the Olympic break with a 5-2 win in Colorado. Boldy scored four points into the break, won a gold medal in Milan, and then in his first game back, put up another four points to help Minnesota win their sixth straight game. Joel Eriksson Ek scored twice and Kirill Kaprizov had a pair of assists as the Wild pulled within five points of the first place Colorado Avalanche. Filip Gustavsson made 44 saves including 18 in the third period before pulling himself late in regulation due to illness. He gets his 21st win of the season as the Wild have grabbed two of three on the season series from the Avs. The Wild are back on the ice tonight in Salt Lake City as they’ll take on the Utah Mammoth at 8 P-M.
