Wild Win In Shootout

The Wild almost imploded but salvaged both points in a 4-3 shootout win over the Kings. Jared Spurgeon, Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy all scored first period power play goals to build up a 3-0 lead that lasted through two periods. But the Kings scored three straight in the third to erase the deficit including scoring the tying goal with under :45 seconds to play in regulation. But in the shootout, Marco Rossi scored the only goal and rookie Jesper Wallstedt stopped all four Kings shooters to help lift the Wild to victory. The win pushes Minnesota’s record to 2-1-0. They’re back on the ice Tuesday night in Dallas for an 8:30 puck drop. Coverage begins at 8:15pm on KNUJ.
