Wild win Season opener with a shutout
(St. Louis, MO/Minnesota News Network) — Minnesota forward Ryan Hartman had a pair of goals and Filip Gustavsson made 27 saves as the Wild shutout the Blues 5-0 in their season opener last night in St. Louis. The Wild’s top line of Kirill Kaprizov, Marco Rossi and Matt Boldy combined for two goals and eight points in the win but it was Gustavsson who had to be big to lock down career shutout number 12 especially with 14 saves in the second period alone. The Wild have won 14 of 25 all time season openers and are 3-0-1 in their last four trips to St. Louis. The Wild open their home schedule tomorrow night when they host the Blue Jackets at 7 P-M from Grand Casino Arena in downtown St. Paul.
