Wolves Beat Pacers But Lose Ant

(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — Despite losing Anthony Edwards to hamstring tightness just minutes into the contest, the Timberwolves weren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get down into the mud with a shorthanded but scrappy Indiana Pacers team, outlasting the reigning Eastern Conference champs to capture a 114-110 win in their home opener at Target Center. Julius Randle led the Wolves with a team-high 31 points and 6 assists, and Minnesota got big bounce-back games from Rudy Gobert (14 points, 18 rebounds) and Naz Reid (16 points, nine coming in the decisive final frame) to improve to 2-1 on their season. The Wolves are back on the floor tonight for an 8:30 P-M tip against the Denver Nuggets from Minneapolis.
