Wolves have win streak snapped
(Minneapolis, MN) — A very short-handed Indiana Pacers team came into Minneapolis and ended the Timberwolves’ eight-game winning streak with a 132-130 overtime victory at the Target Center. Obi Toppin led the Pacers with 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He hit an off-balance three-pointer late in overtime to make the difference. Indiana was without four starters to begin the game, before the usual fifth starter was ejected from the contest and their six-man fouled out. Yet, the Pacers rallied from a five-point deficit with three-minutes to play to eventually get the win. Anthony Edwards missed a three-point shot at the end of regulation that would have won the game for Minnesota, while his teammate Julius Randle missed a shot at the end of the overtime that would have sent the game to a second O-T. The 38-29 Pacers have won three of four. The 40-30 Timberwolves lost for the first time since February 28th. Edwards scored 38 points for Minnesota, which will host New Orleans tomorrow night in Minneapolis at 7 P-M. In other team news, Edwards was named the N-B-A Western Conference Player of the Week.
