Wolves lose back and forth game
(Minneapolis, MN) — A game of runs ended with Oklahoma City making the final push in a 130-123 win at Minnesota last night over the Timberwolves. O-K-C closed the first quarter on a 30-to-5 run to take a 35-23 lead into the second frame. The Thunder pushed the lead to 19-points before Minnesota went on a late second quarter run of 30-to-6 and the Wolves eventually went to the locker room leading by two points at 63-61. Oklahoma City closed the third quarter on a 23-to-9 to go from down seven to up seven by the end of the period. The Wolves then used a 14-to-2 run early in the fourth quarter to take a 110-105 before the Thunder countered with an 18-to-2 run to take a 123-112 lead and never look back. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 37 points in the victory, while Minneapolis native Chet Holmgren finished with 19. O-K-C has won nine of ten to improve to 46-10. Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 29 points. The Wolves have dropped four of five and dipped to 31-27. The same two teams play tonight, but this time in Oklahoma City at 7 P-M.
