Wolves snap 5 game losing streak, beat Warriors 108-83

Rudy Gobert recorded 15 points and 17 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves cruised past the Golden State Warriors 108–83 on Monday night in a matchup that lacked many of the teams’ usual stars.

Golden State was without Stephen Curry, sidelined by a knee injury, and Draymond Green, who sat out with a sore back. Minnesota was also shorthanded, as Anthony Edwards was ruled out late to rest a recurring right foot injury.

Julius Randle paced the Timberwolves with 18 points, while Bones Hyland added 17 off the bench. Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo each contributed 15 points for Minnesota, which snapped a five-game losing streak—its longest since December 2022.

For the Warriors, Quinten Post led the way with 13 points. Brandin Podziemski finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, and Gui Santos posted 11 points and 10 boards. Golden State struggled from deep, hitting a season-low 23.1 percent from three-point range (9 of 39).

One night after the Warriors ended Minnesota’s 103-game streak of scoring at least 100 points—the third-longest such run in NBA history—the Timberwolves overcame a slow shooting start and 23 turnovers to take control of the game.

Minnesota broke things open late in the second quarter with a decisive 21–4 run. Randle scored 10 points during the surge, helping the Timberwolves build a 53–38 halftime advantage.

The Timberwolves struggled early, making just two of their first 12 shots and missing seven of their first eight attempts from beyond the arc. That allowed Golden State to jump out to a 16–8 lead behind a 13–0 run.

Hyland sparked Minnesota’s response with three transition layups, and Reid’s first three-pointer helped the Timberwolves edge ahead 21–20 by the end of the first quarter.
