Wolves win in Boston for first time in 21 years
(Boston, MA/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Timberwolves made a little history last night in Boston. For the first time in 21 years, the Wolves walked out of T-D Garden with a win, beating the Celtics 102-92. Minnesota guard Bones Hyland led the way with 23 points off the bench, giving the Timberwolves a spark they rode through the second half. Jaden McDaniels added 19, and Ayo Dosunmu stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Rudy Gobert controlled the glass with 14 boards. Boston got 29 from Jaylen Brown, but the Celtics’ offense stalled in the fourth quarter, managing just 15 points as Minnesota pulled away. The win snaps an 18?game losing streak in Boston, a drought so long that several current Wolves players weren’t even born the last time the team won there. The Celtics dipped to 47-24 on the season. The Wolves improved to 44-28 on the season and are in tied for fourth in the N-B-A Western Conference. Minnesota will host Houston on Wednesday in a key game for the playoff chase.
