Woman Dies After Being Hit by Train Near Litchfield

A Cosmos woman is dead after being hit by a train in Meeker County Monday afternoon near Litchfield.

At just after 12:30pm, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train.

The Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old Raihna Mathews was found dead at the scene.

Deputies learned the train was westbound and Mathews had been walking on the tracks at the crossing with County Road 1 when she was struck.
