Woman Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle in Sibley County/Suspect in Custody

Authorities in Sibley County are investigating after a woman exited a vehicle in Kelso Township Saturday and at some point was struck by the same vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office says the incident took place near the intersection of 391st Avenue and 310th Street when 46-year-old Melissa Davidson of Rural Le Sueur exited a vehicle driven by a 48-year-old rural Henderson man and was then struck by the vehicle, which resulted in substantial injuries.

First responders provided aid at the scene and Davidson was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver was taken into custody on probable cause criminal vehicular homicide and is being held at the Sibley County Jail pending charges.
