ZIMMERMAN FACING NINE CHARGES

Randy Zimmerman of Courtland made an intial appearance  in Brown County District Court Tuesday for a Rule 8 hearing stemming from the double homicide in Hanska earlier this month.  The Grand jury earlier indicted Zimmerman on nine counts – two premeditated counts of first-degree murder, two felony first-degree murder charges, murder in the first degree-pattern of domestic abuse, two murder in the second degree with intent charges, burglary in the first degree with a dangerous weapon and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.   Zimmerman is accused of breaking into a Hanska home and fatally shooting Tabitha Trescott and Justin Reinarts and faces up to 40 years in prison.
